Membership & Benefits
Any organization, regardless of its size or capability and with the aims of providing resources for the benefit of learners and researchers at the regional level, may join the CanalAVIST Consortium for a very modest fee. It will offer an extensive portfolio with a programme of events. Also, to provide channels for educators in similar fields or for interdisciplinary projects, whether the educators or students are in proximity or geographically distant, to join in collaborative and cooperative development and delivery of online courses and resources. As a membership organisation, its primary focus is supporting its members in their use of e-learning. The consortium provides a network for members to share their online learning, training and development experiences enabling all to share in successes as well as learning from failures.
Types of members:CanalAVIST eliminates the barriers of travel time and distance, allowing learning on-demand whether at home or at work, features highly valuable cross-cultural and cross-national learning and experience, and empowers its members as it allows them to know more and learn faster with less cost. It will give the ability to make resources available at a time and place to suit them, and in a very cost-effective way.
Content Providers (sending and receiving)- Members can share and contribute curriculum materials and resources, donate the resources such as talks, digitized presentation materials, VDO files;
- Members can, for involvement in professional development, enjoy access and utilize services and resources;
- Members can enrich teaching opportunities, expand venues for staff development, and provide online learning experiences for potential by utilizing the latest technology in a cost-effective delivery system;
- Members can empower educators working in their own country to bring distance learning to a wider population; and
- Members can be individuals and institutions, the latter including colleges and universities, not-for-profit organizations, foundations, private corporations and selected governmental agencies.
